Looking forward to our walk tomorrow at 2pm, Sunday 9th June. The walk starts and finishes at the Stubbing Wharf pub, Hebden Bridge. HX7 6LU. We’ll meet behind the pub on the canal side.Part of the Calderdale Way is heavily overgrown at this time of year, so LONG TROUSERS essential. You can park at the Stubbing Wharf, providing you visit the pub at the end of the walk (or before), however, access is over a humped-back bridge that is not suitable for all cars. The turning into the pub is signposted ‘Hebden Bridge Cruises’.Alternatively, it is a short walk along the canal (10 minutes) from the centre of Hebden Bridge. There is also a bus stop (King Street) 100 metres from the start.Other information:Walk length 3 miles.Moderate Ability – Steady climb uphill for c. 15 mins plus one further short steady climb later in the walk. CHINSTEP Walk 12th JuneDue to unforeseen circumstances Pat and I will be leading one of our standby walks this month.We will meet at Christ Church at 10 o'clock as normal or Wood Edge car park HD3 3FR at 10:30 traffic permitting..This walk is a 3-and-a-half-mile circular walk around Scammonden Dam. There are no stiles to negotiate and the paths are good, but there is a descent at the beginning and sustained ascent towards the end of the walk. We are looking to book lunch at the Lower Royal George Inn on New Hey Road Huddersfield HD3 3FW, so please can you let us know if you can stay to lunch, so that we can let them know the numbers.Looking forward to seeing you all on the 12th.Regards Wendy ...
