CHINSTEP walk Wednesday 11th SeptemberWe meet at 10AM at Christ Church or 10:30ish in the layby almost opposite the Malt pub, Harden, Bradford BD16 1BG.A 3.25-mile walk takes us along Harden Beck, into Goit Stock wood, passing by the waterfalls to Hallas Bridge and back through fields and woodland.There are a few slight inclines, some undulating, sometime rough pathway (but very manageable) as we pass the waterfall and 4 easy climb stone stiles.We advise you to wear long trousers, good boots and take poles and we think you will all enjoy the walk. We will eat at the Malt. Wendy and I enjoyed a tasty meal there yesterday with a good menu choice.Due to the short notice pleas advise us, as soon as possible if you are joining us for the meal so we can advise them of numbers.We look forward to you joining us.Thank youPat & Wendy ... Looking forward to our next reflective walk at Judy Woods on Sunday 8th September at 2pm.Judy Woods is located at Station Road, Wyke, BD12 8LA. Take the A641 heading towards Bradford, turn left immediately before the zebra crossing onto Station Road. Roadside parking on Station Road – no charge. Entrances to the woods are beside the roadside. The walk begins at the right-hand entrance.Other information:Walk length 2.5 miles.Dogs to be kept on lead. Toilets only available in the local pubs – The Old White Beare and The Pear Tree. This woodland walk can be muddy in places, with one set of steep steps to climb and roots are exposed in places. People fleeing from threat and persecution in other places should be able to find a safe place in the UK.British values of mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs underpin our society. As Christians, we are called to care for vulnerable people and speak up for those who suffer.The moderators of the United Reformed Church and its synods are united in their deep concern for those who have been targeted in recent civil unrest. The hallmarks of racial prejudice have been on display. An initial solemn response to a terrible attack in Southport has been subverted into further violence. No good will come of it.We stand with Black and Asian friends and neighbours, and with asylum seekers and refugees.
