Funerals

The death of a loved one can be a very difficult time.

As Christians, we believe that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ gives hope and cause for thanksgiving.

The funeral service is a time to remember and give thanks for the life of the person who has died and also to entrust them to the infinite love and care of God.

The funeral service can be held either in church followed by a committal, or at the crematorium or cemetery chapel.

As an alternative, the Service of Committal may take place first at either the crematorium or the cemetery and be followed by a Service of Thanksgiving for the person’s life, in church. These services may or may not take place on the same day.

It is also possible to hold a service for the burial or scattering of ashes.
